about

Written back in like 2012, this song was always on the fringes of the MJP/TMK repertoire. The Mineral Kingdom performed it pretty often, but the recording didn't make the cut for the TMK EP because it sounded too much like The Norberto Fig Awesome Cat Competition, and featured a billion other musicians who aren't in TMK.

That being said, this song (along with "George Jetson's Inflatable Cop" from the Glowing Stars/Awkward Terrible collab) really made the leap for me from strings and horns as background material to an integral part of my chiptune works, and it was a finessing of this idea that led to the TMK sound.

This song had no title for a long time, and was simply called "Groovy in A". I finally titled it "Cosmic Sans", and thus it fits one of the themes of this album, in that I'm trying to use up all the awful puns I have stored up so I can make real titles now.
