How Jeff Clamsworthy Defeated the Champion of the Houndignoble Dynasty and Reclaimed His Rightful Seat on the Throne of the Bivalve Empire In No Small Part Thanks to His Team of Highly Skilled and Well Respected Bike Mechanics (or: Why Labor Rights Are Important Even Under a Monarchy)

lyrics

The clams of Mercenaria were in an awful state
The Houndignoble dynasty had long ruled them with hate
With cruelty and malice, self interest instead of grace
But a champion would soon return so bivalves could live in peace

So entrenched in the minds of these common clams was the authority of these Hounds
That the memories of better times were forgotten
The Clamsworthys had reigned before with honor and with love
But discussion of this history was verboten

[CHORUS]

The wheels start turning, the gears start churning
A champion is set to arrive
The clams can feel it, the sea can hear it
Jeff Clamsworthy is soon to ride

VERSE 2
The houndignoble army, a mass of plastic straws
Waste from the human world above, are rallied to the cause
Following the word of leaders they had never questioned
They organized and formed up to fight without a pause

Cresting over the ridge, the bathymetry on their side
Clamsworthy’s army rode one-pedaled bikes with pride
Though they had Jeff’s clan outnumbered, the Hounds were struck with awe
By the unity and purpose of the Clam commando call

CHORUS 2

VERSE 3
Jeff rode atop his trusty steed, a bicycle maintained
By all the best mechanics whose labor he retained
With a more than living wage as well as hefty benefits
Because he knew upon their work his legitimacy sits

He held aloft a sea urchin spine, a mark of generations,
A gilded weapon used to fight for freedom through the ages
The Hounds army laid down their arms, seeing the futility of such a fight
And knew unity of all common clams was the truest source of might
