about

I've yet to finish a full year of the Weekly Beats project, but plenty of good ideas have come out of them. This track in particular is short enough to be an idea, but I'm happy with where it is.

The noise after the first melody was performed on an instrument I call the electric loom, which is a set of snare wires with a pickup on it, played by strumming, stretching and eBowing.

The banjo on this track was on loan from some random person who had brought it into the music store I worked at in early 2016, and loaned it to me for more information, and so I might potentially buy it (I didn't). It was a gorgeous plectrum banjo, over a hundred years old with beautiful inlays.
