about

I was a frequent guest with The Family Crest for their first couple of years, and when they decided to fund their second full length through Kickstarter, they asked me to contribute a gameboy cover of one of their songs to a "cousins" EP to be delivered to backers. I picked "Sell Yourself Lightly" because it already had a bevy of intricately woven, fast moving lines that can make a chiptune track sparkle.

In order to work in all the details from the original version that I wanted, I wound up maxing out every type of data that can be stored in an LSDJ song. The accelerando at the end is acheived with a single, repeating noise channel phrase which repeats and increments a tempo command, in order to save on phrases needed for melody variations elsewhere in the song.
